There is a special place in hell for the inventor of the fisheye lens, or at least, for whoever came up with using it for real estate listings. I must have been turned off from 20 or 30 houses by now by the blasted things. That vintage kitchen, there, for one. I would love it, but it makes me dizzy to look at it.
And, this guy isn’t even making the place look bigger, just weird.
Perhaps I’m different, but I understand fisheye photos, I can look at them and see the room for what it is, and ignore the lens-induced curvature. I don’t even notice the fisheye effect all that much. Too bad for those of you that get visually lost just because of that. Too bad. Perhaps, also, you don’t understand that it would be virtually impossible to get in that much visual information (in a single picture) without a fisheye lens.
I have seen the FishEye lens used well and poorly… these are not good examples.
A wide angle lens in the hands of a good photographer would have been a better choice.
