Its all about the angles…

These are great examples of why you need an SLR camera and a wide angle lens if you are an agent. Phones and other point and shoot digital cameras just don’t cut it. Of course, bad photos are bad photos so it helps to work on composition a little bit. In these photos however the composition is for the most part OK, it’s just the lens is not wide enough. Even if you do own a point and shoot camera, check B&H Photo to see if a wide angle adapter is available for your camera. These fit over your lens and widen the shot. Wide-adapters are low cost, and work well without needing to upgrade to a full SLR / interchangeable lens camera. They will warp the photo a little bit on the edges (which can be cut out or even fixed completely with computer software), but it’s a small price to pay in comparison to horrible photos.
I’m sorry, Barry. I really can’t stop commenting! Or laughing! The corner of the room photo! OMG! This one makes me scratch my head. Are they letting you know the rooms aren’t round? That the carpeting goes all the way to the walls? Or that the walls meet at the edges?
It is almost as baffling as the infamous “here’s the bed” photo, followed by the “here’s the bed from another angle” pic, and the “Don’t these people have a really nice bed?” finishing photo.
I guess they aren’t as bad as one I saw recently, a very fuzzy shot of the outside of the house from half a block away, with the comment, “You really owe it to yourself to see this one. Don’t let it slip away from you!” That’s all. No interior shots, no descriptions, no # of bedrooms, nuthin’.
